The competitive mode encourages tactical play, as rivals vie to garner the most fame in combat and acquire valuable cards from the market or through wise navigation of encounters. On top of bridging the story between the video games, Hand of Fate: Ordeals introduces multiplayer elements with two to four-player competitive and four-player co-operative modes, along with a single-player campaign. Developed in partnership with board game publisher Rule & Make, Hand of Fate: Ordeals is a strategic dungeon-crawling and deck-building experience set between the original gameand its upcoming sequel. The full tabletop kit is slated for release in November. The campaign itself is simply in place to produce more product for more punters, which is something we can totally get behind, and they're only asking for AUD$30,000. Moreover, it's happening regardless of the Kickstarter campaign. Strangely enough, I recently went back to Hand of Fate on Xbox One (and am still loving it), so getting this news overnight was both strange and welcome. And in a fitting move, an adaptation of the Aussie-developed dungeon-crawling card game Hand of Fate, from Brisbane-based Defiant, is taking the real-world plunge, this week taking to Kickstarter for a bit of help. Tabletop gaming has made a pretty big comeback since the geeks took over the Earth with our blockbuster superhero movies, decent TV shows, great games and that there cosplay.
